Healthcare Alliance

The mission of the North Central Wisconsin Healthcare Alliance is “to develop collaborative partnerships among workforce readiness, educational, and healthcare organizations, maximizing resources to create innovative solutions in pursuit of a sustainable healthcare workforce in North Central Wisconsin.”

The vision is “to be a committed alliance, fostering the ongoing regional availability of a skilled healthcare workforce.”

The North Central Wisconsin Healthcare Alliance will serve the counties of Adams, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Portage, Vilas, and Wood.

The Alliance Goals include:

  • Establish an infrastructure and administrative support process for the alliance.
  • Provide a forum for healthcare professionals to discuss and design collaborative approaches to advocate for workforce and educational needs.
    • Increase access and reduce barriers to relevant healthcare workforce resources
    • Utilize data-driven decisions; i.e. regional retention surveys (healthcare workforce and educators)
  • Maximize resources across the region to provide health career pathway awareness experiences.
    • K-12 exploratory
    • Post-secondary career exploratory
    • Increase availability of advanced healthcare career pathway
  • Provide resources for shared professional development opportunities and increase awareness of available educational opportunities.
  • Align post-secondary student requirements and processes for clinical placements.

These goals will be accomplished through three work groups. The Career Exploratory work group is undertaking the task of reducing the number of requests for student career exploration experiences in the healthcare facilities while supporting the volume of students interested in exploring healthcare careers. The Clinical Student Processes work group is striving to align post-secondary student requirements and processes. The Infrastructure and Outreach group is tasked with developing a Google Site to store the minutes/agendas internally and development of a website for external communication, as well as outreach to other organizations.
