Retiring baby boomers will create void in workforce

It wasn’t long ago that the recession forced scores of central Wisconsin businesses to trim their workforces. In the coming years, a different type of problem is expected to plague central Wisconsin companies. Too few workers.

The workforce collectively is getting older, and as members of the baby boomer generation retire, there will not be enough younger employees to take their place. That was the message Bruce Trimble shared with business leaders at a recent meeting of the South Area Business Association in Weston.
